How long does it take
Our FSTP workshops are between 12 and 20 hours long. Most people write and draw outside of the workshops as well ... they just cannot help themselves.
A lot happens behind the scenes.
The design process takes a minimum of 10 hours per participant. Sure, we could do it much faster but we want your book to be unique.
Do I have to be able to draw?
NO.
While most of our workshops have a strong illustrative component, you do not have to be "able to draw" to take part in our programs.
We will work with you to tell the visual aspects of your story helping you to develop your own style.
Why do we write and illustrate our books
Part of the learning process is understanding the various components to creating a 24 or 32 page storybook.
This is valuable even if you have not help a crayon in your hand for 50+ years.
No, seriously - I cannot draw and don't want to draw.
No problem. Photographs, stick figures, scrap-booking pieces, collage, and plain backgrounds can all work.
Are the workshops available on line or in person
The COVID-19 virus instigated our on-line programs.
With social distancing in place, in-person workshops can some times be run in South Western Australia and other places
My story is intense. Should I be in a group or do it on my own?

My community group would like to do this. Is their funding available?

Please contact us to discuss.
Are Book Incubator Books available for general sales
Sometimes.
We are primarily a nurturing creative hub that mentors and guides authors who want to publish their stories for family and friends.
Occasionally a book appears that will have a wider audience. Should this happen then the Book Incubator will work with the author for the best possible outcome for the author.
Generally we recommend a softly softly approach ... write it print it try it out adjust if necessary and then publish to a broader audience of that is your goal. We can assist you through all of these steps and will allow you to remain in the driver seat.
